Meaning of this name is unknown.
Daniele Loglio says: Some documents from the 16th century trace the origin of the surname "Loglio" to gens Lollia The Loglio’s family in Italy is originally from Legnago (Verona). In the 17th century the Loglios moved to Gandino (Bergamo). In the second half of the 1700s one of the Loglio brothers moved to Casazza (Bergamo) where built the manor house (still owned by the Loglio family). In the mid-19th century, a family quarrel led to the division of two branches of the family. The Loglios “of upstairs” continued to live in Casazza where they founded a bank (Bernardo, his son Giuseppe called "Pino" and, later, the children of "Pino", Giulio and Silvio - the latter lawyer and senator) and devoted themselves to the wine business being owners of large areas. The Loglio “of below” moved to the city of Bergamo and devoted themselves to medical art (dr. Bruno). By the end of World War II, the Loglios “of upstairs” lost almost all of their possessions. Both of the two children of Avv. Sen. Silvio died of tuberculosis at a young age. Giulio (Julius) had three sons: Bernardo called "Dino", Luigi called "Gigio" and Lorenzo (the latter died during the Nazi occupation – that saw the manor house of the Loglios transformed into the headquarters of the Nazi). "Dino" had a son, Giulio, who became a veterinarian and who had two children: Alessandro (doctor) and Daniele (lawyer). Both have moved to Milan. Daniele had a son: Enea (Aeneas) Giulio. "Gigio" had a son, Giuseppe (Joseph), who had two daughters. Dr. Bruno Loglio (Loglio “of below”) had a son, Marco, who had a son named Bruno. The latter had a daughter.
